No two artists better symbolize success and downfall than Kid Cudi and Charles Hamilton. Massive talents, major deals, mental issues. But their paths after getting on could not be more different. Day N Nite strikes a chord and Cudi rocks festivals, but a clip of Charles getting punched in the face ruins his career. The very sites that prop Charles up tear him down. The culture is less about artist discovery and celebration: now blogs, in order to get engagement, are dependent on chasing page views at any expense.
